Laura
I've been playing with a new yarn, Karabella Lace Merino Silk. I am really enjoying it (in spite of my little mishap with the pattern the other day).
I seem to be attracted to merino/silk blends first the Cascade Venezia and now this wonderfully soft yarn which is delightful to knit with and has the slight shine silk brings to yarn. I think it will make a lovely all season shawl.
I've only knit about a foot of my new shawl so far but I already steamed it to see how the pattern will look when done. I like to do a little finish work along the way sometimes; steaming part of the work and sewing in ends before I'm done. It gives me a sneak peek into the finished project and keeps me motivated. Fewer UFOs that way.
I like to weave in the ends as I finish each piece of a project so that there is less finishing at the end. It seems like less work if it's broken up.
On another note, I tried to order some cute reading glasses like yours, but none of the pretty ones can be ordered with prescription lenses! I did, however, discover that the reason my reading glasses haven't bee quite cutting it lately is not that they are old, but that I am. I need a new (i.e. stronger) prescription.
