Sarah
Dude! Are these cute, or what? Faye knit these for a friend of hers who is expecting twins, using my baby pants pattern and Plymouth Jean Nee yarn.
I used to think having twins would be really cool -- I want to have two kids, tops, and the idea of getting it all done in one go has a certain appeal. Plus there's the fact that they'd be able to go through school together, and the of course adorable twin outfits.
After having Measure, though, I am amazed that anyone can care for two infants at once and still stay sane. Measure's not a "difficult" baby, but even if they were the best-tempered of babies, two of them would be exponentially more difficult. You've got two hungry little mouths to feed and to wipe when spitup explodes out of them like Mount Vesuvius on a bad day, two little butts that need changing a collective 14-20 times a day, two squirmy bodies to buckle into carseats...just thinking about it tires me out!
So Faye, please pass along to your friend a very old, very traditional Irish blessing which I just made up a minute ago: May her famiy be generous and helpful, her pediatrician friendly and skillful, and her babies happy and peaceful.
Cute Pants! And hilarious commentary!

Ooh! Cute pants. Too bad I don't know anyone with a baby right now. Not that my queue needs to get longer....

Really cute. I thought I wanted twins until I had my first, too. I also thought I wanted a lot of kids, and then I discovered that one is a lot of kids. I have three altogether, and one is my now-grown stepson. I can't even imagine having another. I break out in a cold sweat every time I try!

Yes, very cute indeed!
I always thought it would be better to get it done in one shot(twins), but I am already panicking about the one baby in my belly right now.
