Laura
I seems both Sarah and I have travel plans this summer. Mine are a bit more permanent. It looks like the family will be moving in a few weeks to San Diego! Yikes! This is the third leg of our westward migration over the past ten years; from New York to Chicago to San Francisco and now to San Diego. Since we couldn't go much further west I guess San Diego is the last place left to go before we start circling back. I think we've been pretty lucky to live near all these fabulous cities.
My family is thrilled. I've got my parents, two brothers and their families in the area. The kids are thrilled they will be living near grandparents and cousins for the first time. There is a lot to be said for living near family as long as you all get along as well as we do. And who can complain about being transferred to San Diego?! This is how we spent the day last weekend when we went down house hunting - on my brother's new boat. You can see the kids waving at me on shore (I took the quiet time to knit). Good time had by all.
There won't be any visible changes at Bella, we are an online store after all. I' hoping to make some new knitting friends in Southern California (hello Yarnhog!), Sarah will be guest blogging from San Fran. So with only two weeks to pack up and go I'll be busy organizing and de-cluttering. We're good at this by now.
Life is ever changing and so here is one more opportunity for us to try new things. Each change seems to lead to others, I can't wait to see where this brings us.

Good luck on your move! San Diego is a beautiful city:)

How random--I'm moving to San Diego at the end of the month too! You'll have to keep me/us posted of any good yarn shops you scout. :)

I'm afraid I have some bad news for you. Your blog posts (and mine, and many other peoples) have been scraped and republished without your permission on knittingclub.org. Here is one of your posts on their site
http://knittingclub.org/moving-on-down/knitting/2008/06/09/
I have already tried emailing the web host for this site, and the domain name owner, and he/she/they did not reply or do anything. So I am telling the other blogs whose posts have been scraped because there are things we can all do about it:
- Put a copyright notice in your blog feed, or at the start of each blog post (there is a WordPress plugin for this called Feed Copyrighter). The blog scraper does not remove these notices from the posts they copy, as you can see here:
- Report this site to Google as a spam blog using this form (takes about 5 minutes):
http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html
If they are trying to make money from search results leading to the site, this will hurt them in the wallet.
The form asks you for a query string that gives bad results. I would suggest using this (including the quotation marks):
"your blog name" "title of stolen post"
That should give you a Google search results page showing your original content and the scraped content. In the comment box on the form you can say that this site has scraped your blog and republished your copyrighted material without permission.
- Post a comment on your stolen posts. You will need to register as a user (the blog scraper is running WordPress) and provide a valid email address to receive the password for the account. If you chose to do this, I suggest that you use a junk email account you don't intend to use again. The link to register an account is here:
I've left a comment on your scraped post stating that I have told you what's going on. The scraper has comment moderation on, so it won't show up to anyone but them.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, hopefully we can stop this thing. Please don't let this put you off blogging, this scraper is one bad apple in a really big barrel.
Regards,
Ali
